Biography
Helen's practice is devoted primarily to patent prosecution, but also includes other areas of intellectual property law including the provision of validity and infringement opinions and trade-mark and industrial design protection.
Her patent prosecution practice covers a wide variety of technical areas, including mechanical and chemical inventions and industrial processes related to the resource industries, including oil and gas exploration, drilling and production, oil sand extraction and processing, heavy oil upgrading, coal processing and forestry. Furthermore, she has substantial experience in foreign prosecution work, including international applications pursuant to the Patent Cooporation Treaty.
Helen is a member of the Law Society of Alberta, Society of Petroleum Engineers, and associate of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada and a member of the Canadian Bar Association.
