Derek J. Hopfner

Biography

Derek joined Emery Jamieson as an articling student in 2009.

Derek graduated from the University of Alberta, Faculty of Law in 2009. Prior to attending law school, Derek earned a B.Comm.and a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Calgary.

While attending law school, Derek was the Executive Coordinator of Student Legal Services of Edmonton and volunteered extensively with the organization for three years. He continues his commitment to Student Legal Services as a member of its Board of Directors.

Derek has a basic understanding of French and Japanese, and has travelled throughout Asia, Europe and Central Amercia. In his spare time, Derek enjoys playing and watching hockey.
