Jonathon articled at Emery Jamieson and continues as an active associate with the firm. He is dedicated to serving his clients' needs and has appeared before the Court of Queen's Bench, the Provincial Court of Alberta and has seconded in matters at the Alberta Court of Appeal. He has also appeared as a representative and advocate before Municipal Council.
He is currently involved in a number of practice areas at the firm and equally enjoys the courtroom and the boardroom. He has prepared presentations for the Canadian Bar Association and taught classes at the Northern Institute of Technology and regularly attends continuing legal education opportunities.
Outside of practice, Jonathon currently serves, or has served, as an executive member on a variety of committees and positions which include:
Chairman of Student Legal Services of Edmonton; Alberta Law Day - Organizing Committee, CBA Civil Litigation and Co-chair Junior Lawyers, various Ministerial committees for the Province of Alberta, Habitat for Humanity - Law Build, the Canadian Condominium Institute, and political organizations.
During his undergraduate years, he served as an advocate in a number roles including holding the position of President of the Students' Union at the University of Lethbridge and as Provincial Chairman of the Council of Alberta University Students (CAUS).
His professional memberships include the Alberta Law Society, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Canadian Condominium Institute.
While attending law school, Jonathon served as vice-president of the Law Students' Association and was active in various student groups and competitive mock trials.
Jonathon enjoys his spare time travelling abroad, riding his Harley Davidson, being a foodie, and playing rugby.
