Nicholas joined Emery Jamieson LLP as an articling student after completing his Juris Doctor at the University of Alberta in 2018. While in law school he was the recipient of the Bennett Jones LLP Scholarship, a Faculty of Law Scholarship, and the Odishaw Family Prize in Aboriginal Law. He also obtained the highest class grade in Aboriginal Law and Family Law. In 2017 Nicholas won the Alberta Court of Appeal Moot (Civil). Throughout law school he volunteered with Student Legal Services and worked as a research assistant on Aboriginal and Family Law issues.
Prior to law school Nicholas worked as a researcher and international consultant on authoritarian regimes. Some of his research on dictatorships has been published in a prominent peer-reviewed academic journal. During his previous degrees he was the recipient of several awards, scholarships, and research fellowships.
